Does your Somatic Work create an Emotional Release or catharsis?
You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
While somatic work at times can facilitate access or movement of emotions, it is not a goal of nervous system regulation (NSR) to produce a large catharsis or emotional release. The intention of NSR is tolerable inflections of arousal, such as emotion or sensation, that can be experienced with awareness, presence and relative safety while processing. It is a mindful process that attunes to the capacity of the system to metabolize the activation (whether sympathetic, dorsal or ventral parasympathetic), in a meaningful way. Our bodies often have lived the high-volume exposure to overwhelm, stress, and activation. This slower, digestible approach supports a bodymind to find tangible access to the nuance under the noise, to discover the spectrum of what’s alive in the subtlety, and build from foundational resourcing and sustainable liberation.

I understand trauma-informed can reference or mean many things today across cultures.
As an instructor at accrediting healthcare institutions of trauma-informed care (TIC), I approach TIC from six federal principles:Explicit & Implicit Safety
Trustworthiness & Transparency
Peer Support
Mutuality & Collboration
Empowerment, Voice & Choice
Cultural, Historical, Socio-economical & Gender Awareness
It is my role as a provider, guide and educator to consciously create a space that aims to uphold these intentions throughout the infrastructure of my business practices and operations. And it is in deep heart to offer such in the name of personal autonomy and agency.
