25 year - Somatic Practitioner

CAMTC #55336

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

After 24 years serving in the somatic field; I recognize the need for a haven of

a myriad modalities to support one on the road to recovery & optimal health.

In a world that promotes separation, more than ever to be seen and supported as

a whole-person with your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness is vital.

If you’ve experienced dismissal or disregard in health spaces for your humanness,

you are in the right place. Here at Medisoma, we value the entirety of your experience;

because your truth matters.

  • Born-raised on the once Kumeyaay tended lands of San Diego by two incredible parents, I am fortunate to have also experienced significant international travel; often on a backpackers budget to third world nations. Some of my favorite memories are learning and experiencing healing modalities from indigenous medicine carriers, such as Guatemalan Midwife’s, Thai Bodywork Masters and Peruvian Ayahuasquera’s.

    I’ve studied somatic therapies continuously for 20+ years, have curated 43% of the academic curriculum at an accredited bodywork college, at which I teach trauma-informed orthopedic bodywork. I currently am working towards a degree in Psychology of Sensation & Perception; the intersection of kinesiology & psychology.

    I love to spend my free time resting with my two rescue cats, rolling around doing somatic groundwork, or taking moments of pause down at the ocean.

  • Biologically we are built to be more attuned to discomfort than pleasure - it’s the intelligence of our human system for survival. Sometimes these discomforts are big enough to impact the trajectories of our lives. Like far too many, my life had a tumultuous start; consisting of multiple shock traumas, TBI’s and cPTSD in adolescence set up a stage for mental, physical and relational challenges in adult years.

    Thankfully, I was introduced to holistic healing arts as a teen and began formal studies of somatic movement and bodywork at 19 years old. I began working as a massage therapist in several 4 Star Resorts in Las Vegas, promoted to Lead Trainer and management at Condé Nast “World’s Best Spa.” My soul craved to feel alive however, and I traded in a corporate life coupled with addiction, for the thrill and expression of aerial acrobatics. I continued to massage by day and perform in Las Vegas shows by night - until one day I was picked up by Mötley Crüe. I toured internationally performing with a multitude of rock bands, until auto-immune symptoms and somatic collapse caught up to my life as an athletic-artist. Inexplicable herniated disks, full limb paralysis, kidney hospitalizations and 81 other symptoms finally began to make sense.

    Hiding behind a mask of performance, persona and attending to the healing of others, all came crashing to a halt, as my youth yearned to be witnessed. I knew the road to recovery was out of the spotlight and required inquisition from within. Working with professionals and furthering my somatic studies, the pain of the past began to unravel, and I explored what it meant to re-member wholeness.

    It’s been a long and beautiful ten-year journey. One that assimilated a multitude of therapeutic frameworks. Like collecting seashells along the shore, step in front of step, I found the gems of needs my whole-self was seeking. Auto-immune free and the most pain free I’ve been in 20 years, I’m grateful the journey brought me here; to effective and sustainable (w)holistic healing. Sharing these gifts forward is the greatest reward I could possibly imagine.
